Ethos Group

Welcome to our Ethos Group...Footsteps

Learning Together Following Jesus

'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.'

Colossians 3v23

Our Ethos Group, has been developed to promote our Christian Values throughout school. We are involved in planning, leading and evaluating worship both in school and at St. Paul's church. We also get involved in other activities that celebrate and reflect our Christian values in all areas of school life, for example raising money for charities, collecting food for the local food bank, supporting our local care home and running after school clubs for our younger children.

We are made up of Year 5 and Year 6 children and are supported by Mrs Halsall.

Footsteps Fundraising

Tariro Fundraising

The final total is in...we managed to raise an amazing £828.39 for our link charity Tariro;Hope for Young People in Zimbabwe.

On behalf of myself and the children in Footsteps, I would like to say a huge thank  you to all those in school, church and the local community who have supported this fantastic event. In particular, I would like to say a big thank you to Mrs. Sanderson and Year 2 for all their hard work raising money from their Healthy Snacks Week.

Father Nicolas Stebbing from Mirfield is absolutely thrilled and has posted photos on the Tariro Facebook page.

Well done everyone!indecision

Afternoon Tea

Footsteps and Fr. Eddie held an Afternoon Tea to help raise money for Tariro. The afternoon was a success with lots of tea, coffee and homemade cakes. The children worked really well and we all had a wonderful time.

A big thank you to everyone who made cakes and for all those who helped on the day.

Lent 2017

Our Lent focus this year is collecting pennies in a jar for Tariro our chosen charity.

Tariro is a small grant making charity based in the UK that raises money to support orphans or young people. They fund between 45 and 50 young people who need help and support in four centres in Zimbabwe. Tariro gives these children and young people hope when they have had none, it gives them a reason to live, and helps them to thrive.

Help us to help them by making a donation

During Lent, all of our school family will try hard to give up just a few pennies that we will help the children of Tariro.

God bless during this special time with Christ.

Footsteps After School Club

We meet every Wednesday after school with Mrs. Heaton to plan our worship and activities in school to ensure we are... Together on a journey, helping others.

So far, we've had fun creating our display for the hall and writing prayers for the Harvest Family Service.   Fr. David and Fr. Eddie came to help us too...and to enjoy a cup of coffee!

After School Club

Reception and Ethos (R.E.) After School Club

Footsteps are running an after school club with Reception children. The club is a mixture of Bible stories and arts and crafts. We have been having lost of fun so far.

St. James' Children's Ethos Conference

We were invited to attend the Children's Ethos Conference at St. James' School Chorley. Four representatives of Footsteps attended and we had a fabulous day. The children engaged in worship and took part in different workshops that reflected the importance of the Easter story.

Distributing Christmas Cards

Charity Work - Christmas Cards

All the children have made a Christmas card which have been  distributed to the local community - Grove House, Marley Court and Chorley Hospital

This Christmas, we are supporting the local charity Home-Start. We are running a stall at the Christmas Fair, if you have any donations of unwanted toys, gift sets or toiletries please send them into school. Thank - you smiley

At Adlington St. Paul's C.E Primary we pride ourselves on our strong Christian character and church school distinctiveness. This is reflected in our core values and also the comments from our recent SIAMS inspection,

"The school's distinctively Christian ethos nourishes, encourages and challenges the spiritual and cultural development of the whole community"

We have very strong links with the church and the children are involved in planning and delivering worship. The children understand the importance of our Christian faith and this is reflected throughout school life.

Keep updated with our Class Worships and church services on the school newsletter.
