Children In Need sponsored Bearpee challenge, by Mrs Chidgey

Date: 17th Nov 2023 @ 9:47pm

The sponsored Bearpee challenge for Children in Need came to an end this afternoon. It has been lovely to see the team spirit and determination the children have displayed this week. The children have all worked together to achieve our individual class targets of 1,000 Bearpees. Not only did each class manage to achieve their target of 1,000, we managed to smash our whole school target of 7,000 by completing more than double the amount needed.

Our final whole school total was a massive 15,492.

Our individual class totals were as follows:-

Reception 1,080
Year 1 - 1,295
Year 2 - 1,410
Year 3 - 2,419
Year 4 - 4,760
Year 5 - 3,478
Year 6 - 1,050

Well done to all the children for joining in and rising to the sponsored Bearpee challenge. It has been great to see Bearpees happening all around school this week.
Thank you for the sponsor money that has been sent in so far. I look forward to sharing with you the amount of money we have raised, when we get our total next week.

What a lovely way to finish of Anti-bullying Week by celebrating our acts of kindness to help children who are in need!

Well done again children.

During the week beginning 17th October 2022, we will be having a poetry festival involving all schools in our Trust family.  This will be a celebration of our ‘Off By Heart,’ Summer Poetry Challenge. The children can learn one poem from a choice of 5. They need to perform it and the poetry choices reflect this.

This is a link to a video by Michael Rosen with some top tips for performing poems.
