Father David led a class worship for our Reception children, on our school value of respect.

The children enjoyed watching the Punch and Judy show at the end of our seaside celebration day.

The children had a great time learning all about the animals in the interactive rock pool, during our seaside celebration day.

Some of the children in Reception presented examples of their good work in today's celebration assembly.

The children have created seascapes in the style of Monet.

Behind the scenes at the Dance Festival

The children in Reception enjoyed working with their Year 6 buddy during their Skillswise PE session.

Welcome back

I hope the children have all had a lovely half term break and are coming back to school full of excitement for their last half term in Reception. I am very pleased to be moving into Reception to get to know the children and help to get them ready for moving into Year 1 in September. We will be busy at the start of the term practising for the upcoming dance festival and we have some exciting events for the children to enjoy as we move towards the summer holidays.

Our topic for this half term is 'Who lives in a rock pool?'. I have attached the parent information and the book list below so you can look at what this topic will cover and see what sort of books you could read with your child to enhance their learning. There will be lots of new exciting learning opportunities and challenges, based on this topic, in the environment for the children to engage with.

We will be doing PE every day over the first two weeks, as we prepare for the dance festival, and then every Friday after that. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school for these days and that they are not wearing earrings so they can take part.

If you have any queries at all over the half term, please don't hesitate to speak to myself or Mrs Crosier.

See you on Monday.

Mrs Chidgey

Happy Easter.

We hope all our children and their families have had a lovely half term!

The children's Topic this term is Are we there yet? To start our topic off the children went on a vehicle spotting afternoon. We saw lots of cars and vans and even spotted a helicopter!

The children were very excited to welcome our tadpoles to school. They have been looking after them and check every day to see if they have changed.

Our beautiful Butterflies

Meet our newest additions! The children are excited about the caterpillars and we will be watching closely to see the changes over the next two weeks.

Mini-beats madness!

The reception children were very excited to learn about mini-beasts. They were very brave and had a go at holding some of the mini-beasts even the tarantula. The children were a credit to the school, they were praised for their behaviour and good listening skills throughout the session.

Welcome back after a lovely half term. The children had an exciting start to their topic - Why do ladybirds have spots? They teamed up with Year 2 on a lovely sunny afternoon to go on a mini-beast hunt on the school field.

Kung Hei Fat Choi (Happy New Year)

The children have enjoyed learning about the Chinese New Year. The have loved dressing up in our Chinese outfits and have enjoyed learning about Chinese customs. We have been dancing like Chinese Dragons and have tasted different Chinese foods.

A snowy day

Spring Term 1

The children were very excited about the crash landing in our school field, so on a cold January morning we went to explore! We then chose the story Aliens in Underpants to read as a starting point. We then designed our own aliens and underpants. We have looked at our solar system and have been looking at Earth and Venus. The children have enjoyed learning in our Space themed role play.

Happy New Year to all our children and families.

We had a great time meeting Father Christmas at the Christmas Party.

November 2017

What a fantastic start we have had to our new half term. We started it off with 2 sessions of Bikeability. The children were fantastic and I think we have some future cyclists amongst our reception children!

Your children were amazing in church for our Service of Remembrance and were a credit to you at the War Memorial. We made our very own Symbol of Remembrance in school, a very special moment and thank you to everyone who supported us by sending in a bottle.

The children have enjoyed this term’s topic – Will you read me a story? They have enjoyed listening to traditional stories and are fantastic at retelling them. We had fun making our own porridge just like the three bears and had even more fun eating it!

September 2018

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new Reception children and their families as we begin our journey at St. Paul's.

We have had a really exciting start to our school year, spending lots of time making new friends and exploring our environment.

We have had lots of fun meeting new friends!
