How do germs spread?

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 2 Year: 2022 - 2023

Today we have been investigating how germs spread. We initially predicted how thsi happens. We then carried out our investigation by wetting our hands and then adding glitter to a couple of children's hands and playing games-  shaking hands, high fiving and then passing a ball around the circle to each other. As germs are microscopic the glitter represented these. We used two colours of glitter to see how far the glitter would spread and whether we would end up with more than one colour of glitter on our hands. Wow... glitter spreads easily and quickly, we decided just like germs. We now understand why washing our hands is very important to keeping us healthy.
