Investigating Air Resistance

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 5 Year: 2022 - 2023

Today we have investigated 'Air Resistance.' In groups of 6 we created three parachutes changing one variable and keeping two variables the same. The things we could change or keep the same were the material the canopy was made from, the size of the canopy or the length of the strings. Once we made the parachutes we predicted which one would have the most air resistance and travel to the ground the slowest. We then tested our parachutes filling in a table and obserevd what happened. We then evaluted our results, thinking about whether the investugation was a fair test, what went well, what could be improved and any questions we may want to know about air resistance.
