Nocturnal Animals

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Reception Year: 2022 - 2023

This afternoon Reception Class explored different Nocturnal Animals through their Starry Night topic. What super learning and team work! ?

We learnt that nocturnal animals sleep during the day and are awake, eat and play at night. Miss Walton turned all the lights off and hid pictures of nocturnal animals around the class. We had to work in partners using a torch and spotting sheet to tick the animals off as we found them. We identified that bats, badgers, foxes, hedgehogs, moths and owls are all nocturnal.

We then sorted animals that are nocturnal and diurnal, and attempted to draw pictures of different nocturnal animals.
