Our bodily systems...

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 6 Year: 2022 - 2023

During todays science lesson we have been recapping and learning each of our bodily systems linked to the 7 life processes. We worked in small groups on a round robin circuit, writing notes on each system and what the system is for.

  • skeletal system - Our bones which allow movement, balance and protection to our internal organs.
  • muscular system - this is attached to our skeleton. Our muscles work in pairs, one contracts and theother relaxs.
  • digestive system - whereby food is broken down into vital nutrients for our body or the waste is excreted.
  • respiritory system - uses some of our main organs for breating in oxygen and releasing it for carbon dioxide.
  • circulatory system - made up of the heart, blood vessels and blood which is transported around the entire body.
  • nervous system - this controls everything our body does, helping us sense and undertsand the world around us.
  • endocrine system - this is made up of glands and controls growth.
  • reproductive system - male and female bodies are different but together they produce offspring.
