Using our Senses!

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 1 Year: 2022 - 2023

What a fun Science lesson! Today we have been finding out the functions of our senses. We carried out five exciting activities to understand how each sense works. First we used our ears to listen to different sounds - a car starting, a tap running and a dog barking. Next we used our eyes to decide what we could see in the images - pencil lead, chocolate and bark. Thirdly we used our nose to smell - coffee, perfume and mint, most of us liked the smell of each one! We then felt in a bag and box using our skin to touch and decide what we could feel - a fluffy teddy, wet sloppy sand and squashy play dough. Finally we used our tongue to taste apple which was squashy and sweet, cheese which was stong but tasty and saving teh best until last, chocolate buttons, they were sweet and creamy! We were all very brave and had a go at everything.
