Heating and Cooling Investigation

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 4 Year: 2022 - 2023

In our Science lesson today we looked at the process of heating and cooling. To investigate this process we used CHOCOLATE BUTTONS! We held the buttons in the palm of our hands and timed how long it took to melt - we measuered the time it took to get to melting point and fully melted. We then got to either lick the burron from our hand or wipe if from our hand! We then recored our results and evaluated what we learnt. We discovered that our body temperature - usually between 36 - 37 degrees causes the button to melt over time. The button changed state from solid to liquid. We then discussed that if we placed the button on a plate it would reverse back to a soild in its new shape.
