Investigating Voltage...

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 6 Year: 2022 - 2023

We have investigated voltage. We have measured the light intensity (LUX) of a lamp when increasing the voltage. We began with 1 x AA cell and then increased gradually to 4 x AA cell. We found the light intensity of the lamp increased with more voltage however there didn't seem to be a pattern in the LUX. Therefore the more electrons pushed through the circuit the brighter the lamp. After a few seconds of the lamp being lit with x4AA batteries the bulb went out due as their was to much power going to the bulb. We wondered whether a bigger bulb would take more voltage? We then thought about the volume of a buzzer and speed of a motor and what would happen if we increated the volatge to those components.

We then tested the intensity of the lights in the classroom as we could see those brighter and those dimmer.
