Music Time - 26.9.22

Lesson: Music

Class: Year 2 Year: 2022 - 2023

Our song this half term is 'Hands, Feet, Heart', a song which is used for an African celebration. As a class we have listened and appraised the song, deciding together that we like the song because the it is fun and makes us feel happy.

Today we listened and appraised teh song 'Mbube' - known by some of our class from The Lion King - In the Jungle. We really enoyed finding the pulse to this song and singing along. The song today had only a few instruments - drums, whistle and keyboard along with male and female vocalists who are a choir of singers.

We have started to use the glockenspiels - playing rhythems of notes in time to the music to our class song. The notes played are GGAC. We have started to improvise to the music with our voices and through the use of clapping. Next we will use the glockenspiels to make our own simple rythms.
