Science - Investigating Fatty Foods

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 3 Year: 2022 - 2023

In Science we carried out an investigation about 'Fatty Foods.' We set up our experiement, observed it over time ( 1.5 hours), collected results and evaluated what we found out. We discussed the effects fatty foods have on our bodies and whether this would make us make better food choices.

The foods we investigated were chocolate, cheese crackers, rice crackers, vegetable crisps, potaote crisps, biscuits and brazil nuts. If a food was very fatty it left marks on the brown baking paper and became see through when looked at towards the light, the paper also felt greasy to touch. Some foods we predicted to be fatty and others we prdicted to be less fatty. Rice crackers were the least fatty food we tested, most of us predicted this. However vegetatable crisps surprised us because we thought they would be halthier than normal ppotatoe crisps except they were just as fatty and unheealthy. The most fatty food was the chocolate, most of us predicted this correct.IMG_1943.JPG
